We created this salsa as we didn’t want to have the store-bought salsas as they were high in sodium and preservatives. This homemade salsa is quick and simple and will last about a week in the fridge. It works great on our tacos or as a fresh dip.
Serves: 6 people
Prep time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
3 tomatoes
1 red onion
1 teaspoon of cumin
½ tablespoon of chopped jalapenos
¼ cup lemon or lime
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon of chopped coriander to top the salsa
Steps:
Dice the tomatoes, onion and place in a bowl.
Mix in the cumin, jalapenos, lemon or lime and salt to taste.
Top your salsa with freshly chopped coriander and enjoy!
Note:
You can remove the flesh of the tomato, to create a crunchier salsa, however, we prefer ours runny.
