Bircher Muesli (Gluten Free/ Dairy Free/ Vegan/ No Refined Sugar)

The perfect meal prep breakfast. You can make your breakfast for the week meaning you don't have to rush around in the morning. This bircher muesli is full of healthy goodness and can be customised to your taste.

Serves: 6 people

Prep time: 10 minutes

Chill time: 1 hour or overnight


  • 2 cups of grated apple, about 5 small apples (we used granny smith)

  • 3 cups of gluten free rolled or quick oats

  • 1 cup of coconut yoghurt

  • 3 cups of milk (we used oat)

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

  • 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon

  • ¼ of a teaspoon of ginger

  • ¼ of a teaspoon of nutmeg

  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

  • ½ a tablespoon of honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)

  • ½ a cup of walnuts

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

  • 1 tablespoon of pepitas

  • 1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds


  1. Grate apples into a large bowl.

  2. Add all of the ingredients to the bowl and mix until well combined.

  3. Cover and then place in the fridge

  4. Let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour but overnight is best.

  5. Add your favourite toppings and then enjoy!


  • Bircher muesli lasts up to 3 days in the fridge

  • This recipe is perfect as you can customise your toppings, milk or yoghurt.
